What We Do
We help governments, businesses and their stakeholders put the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights into practice. We share our learning by developing public guidance materials that help build the field globally.
We work with companies who are serious about improving respect for human rights
Through our Business Learning Program, we advise and support a select number of companies, across different industries and regions, on implementation of the UN Guiding Principles. This program has a strong peer-learning component, including in-depth workshops joint with the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School. Through this program, we also generate practical reports and tools for public dissemination and use.
We support effective action by governments to meet their duty to protect human rights
Through our Government Engagement Program we work with individual governments on the implications of the UN Guiding Principles for their approach to business and human rights, ranging across all relevant policy areas and departments.
We tackle shared implementation challenges with key institutional actors
Through our International Partnerships Program we work with key international organizations, industry and multi-stakeholder groups, to develop collaborative responses to, and public guidance on, specific challenges in implementing the UN Guiding Principles.
We build public understanding about business and human rights
Through our Education and Outreach Program we contribute to public awareness and education about business and human rights through workshops, training and other educational activities.
