Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Shift’s graphics or resources in my own research or publication?

Most of our publications have language on the acknowledgments page detailing how third parties can use content and attribute authorship.

If you intend to use our graphics, visual aids and other proprietary content, please contact communications [at] shiftproject [dot] org.

Is Shift a consultancy?

Shift is a mission-driven nonprofit organization. While we do provide advisory support to businesses, governments and other stakeholders, we differ from a consultancy in that:

  • We make sure that every project we take on is one that is in line with our mission to build a world where business gets done with respect for people’s dignity.
  • We help our partners build the internal capacity they need to address human rights rather than doing the work for them.
  • We are constantly distilling and sharing what we learn publicly in order to set new standards for business behavior.
